The Alberta Debate and Speech Association

Each year, ADSA holds its annual Provincial Debate Championships in late February/early March. The site of the Provincials depends on which school volunteers to host. To qualify for the Debate Provincial Championships, students must participate in a regional championship and test their skills against debaters of competing institutions. At the Provincial Debating Championships, debaters compete for the title of Provincial Champions, as well as the honour of participating in numerous interprovincial competitions.

The Debate Provincials also have an AGM (Annual General Meeting) where coaches meet to discuss common concerns and nominate their new board of directors.

During the competition, the following awards and accolades are given, as outlined in the Policy and Rules Manual:

- The Ellen Weber trophy to the best Beginner Team in Junior High competition
